Welcome to your weekly overview of QSL news and information.

July contract roll complete

The first roll of the 2020-Season Target Price Contract took place earlier this week.

Under this process, any unpriced tonnage in the 2020-Season Target Price Contract had the portion allocated against the July 2020 ICE 11 contract transferred (or 'rolled') to the new prompt contract, October 2020.

The adjustment associated with this roll is 58 cents.

This means that for any remaining unfilled orders in the 2020-Season Target Price Contract, the market must now reach the target price + 58 cents before the order will be filled.

The 2020-Season Target Price Contract price now quoted by QSL reflects a 3:2:1 pricing ratio against the remaining October, March and May ICE contracts for the 2020 Season.

The next Target Price Contract roll is scheduled for 21 September 2020.

Voting underway in six regions

Voting is now underway in the Mossman, Tableland, Herbert River, Burdekin, Central (Mackay) and Plane Creek milling regions to decide their local QSL Grower Representative Members.

For full details regarding the candidates and the voting process, please click here.
Grower voting papers also are available from all QSL regional offices and your local grower organisations.

Voting closes 5pm QLD time, Friday 17 July 2020.

Update shares market & pricing insights

Despite improvements in sugar prices, Australian sugar producers have seen their prices confined to the lower end of recent ranges due to the strong rally in our dollar.

Meet the QSL team working for you

FACE OF QSL: Shannon Guy
Grower Services Manager

Hi, my name is Shannon Guy, and I'm the QSL Grower Services Manager with QSL.
I've been working at QSL for eight years, and I am part of the QSL Grower Services Team based in Brisbane. My role is to make sure that growers get set up with a QSL Direct account (and can login to the portal and/or the app!), get paid for their sugar on time, receive their financial reports and statements, and have their questions answered when they call 1800 Direct.

One of the things I love about my job is supporting regional communities by paying growers. And, when circumstances permit, getting up north to indulge in some freshly caught fish!

In my free time I love to kitesurf, snorkel, hike, fish and watch a Nordic Noir series. Even more occasionally, and typically when I should instead be sleeping, I love to watch my beloved Arsenal in a Champions League or FA Cup play off.

Favourite quote: 'Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting'. - Anonymous
