FEBRUARY PRICING DEADLINES (2019 Season) 

  • QSL Individual Futures Contract (IFC) 14 FEB 2020. Pricing completion date for the MAR20 Contract. More info? Click here.
  • QSL Target Price Contract (TPP): 20 FEB 2020. Any unfilled orders beyond this date will be rolled to the MAY20 Contract. More info? Click here.
  • 20 FEB 2020 MSF Sugar districts: Pricing completion date for the 2019-Season Target Price Contract.

In brief

Quarterly reports: Quarterly reports (Q2 1/10/2019 - 31/12/2019) will be generated and available to growers on their QSL Direct online portal on Monday evening (20 January).  
QSL Standard Advance Rates: QSL's Standard Advance rate is scheduled to increase to 80% this month. Those receiving QSL's Accelerated Advances will remain on 90% this month.

QSL Direct workshops Mareeba/Mossman

QSL Direct workshops will be held at Mareeba and Mossman early next week. Details are:

Mareeba: Monday 20 January at CANEGROWERS, 11B/94 Byrnes Street
  • 9am to 10.30am
Mossman: Tuesday 21 January at QSL office, 31B Front Street 
  • 9am to 10.30am
  • 11.30am to 1pm
  • 2pm to 3.30pm

Tuesday Training Mackay & Plane Creek

Mackay and Plane Creek QSL Grower Representatives will hold grower training sessions every Tuesday from February through to April. Two sessions will be held each Tuesday at 9.30am and 1.30pm. 

The first Training Tuesday will be on February 11. 
Training topic: How to use QSL Direct
Learn how to:
  • Create and edit a pricing order (grower-managed)
  • Nominate GEI sugar tonnes to a QSL pool (QSL-managed)
  • Navigate around the QSL Direct portal
  • Find your payment statements and reports
  • Useful tips
Training venues are:
  • QSL Mackay office at Level 2, Canegrowers Building, Wood Street
  • QSL Plane Creek office at the Canegrowers Building, Broad Street, Sarina.

The QSL App has really come into its own in recent weeks with a rallying sugar price resulting in a lot of growers taking advantage of the easy access to pricing, regardless of where they are. Hambledon raw sugar mill, Edmonton area, Cairns region. 'Back in the day' the raw sugar was taken by horse-drawn tram to Swallow's Wharf at the end of Trinity Inlet. Established circa 1880s and closed and demolished 1991 according to Queenslandplaces.com.au.
